Rating new ice cream flavors, part 1 19.6.2026
Many delicious-looking ice cream ads have grabbed my attention on the streets this year, and I fell for their trap. Unfortunately, so far they have not lived up to the hype... So, I decided to write a little review of every new ice cream flavour I try this summer!
1. 3 Kaveria / 3 Friends - korvapuusti / cinnamon roll cone
- cinnamon ice cream with rich, sticky cinnamon roll sauce
- dark chocolate shell
- gluten free
- lactose free
I saw this in the store freezer at the start of the year, and made a mental note to try it this summer. I like cinnamon rolls, and I was curious how it would taste as an ice cream!
Disappointingly, the product wasn't as tasty as I hoped. It made me think more of gingerbread than cinnamon roll. Maybe it needed more cinnamon? It was a little bland, and the flavour of the core reminded me of those Christmas chocolates with Mauri Kunnas' illustration on the packaging.

2. Classic - white chocolate and South-Korean yuzu stick
- white chocolate shell with lemon bits
- vanilla cream ice-cream with Yuzu sorbet
- lactose free
Classic has rebranded, and their new adverts and packaging looks admittedly a lot more attracting than before. I was curious what yuzu might taste like, so I chose to test this new flavour out of the few other new releases they have.
The ice cream has a slightly citrussy taste, but it's overall rather plain... The lemon pieces on the white chocolate shell are very tart(?), and almost feel salty, and they give the ice-cream a bit of a spark, reminding me a bit of the powder on Swedish sour candies.

3. Magnum - Peach La Peche Stick
- some sort of milk ice-cream with peachy gelato core
- peach-flavored crust with sugar crumbs
- tipped with Magnum chocolate
An ad with Magnum's new peach and pistachio sticks have been in a few bus stops, and they look so yummy in those. Although I love pistachios, I've found that pistachio-flavoured products are most often disappointing, so I chose to test the peach one instead. Peach is a nice, fresh fruit that feels a bit underrated imo, and I enjoy peach candies and drinks sometimes. However... this was even more disappointing than I expected the pistachio one to be. The shell flavour was very artificial, and I could hardly find any peach flavour in the ice cream. It didn't taste bad per se, but it wasn't especially good either. The best part of it was the Magnum chocolate, and the stick only has it on the top half.

4. 3 Kaveria / 3 Friends - hazel nut and chocolate truffle
- lactose free cream ice-cream
- chocolate truffle core
- chocolate shell with hazelnut brittle
- lactose free
- gluten free
The latest one I tried. I was expecting this to be less disappointing, and it was! Still a little disappointing, though...
The chocolate shell is good! There's hazelnut bits in it, that taste a little salty, but not too salty to me. The truffle filling was sticky and thick, like a good choco truffle ought to be. However, the ice cream itself tasted a little weird. It was way less sweet than the shell and the filling, so it ended up tasting almost salty, and at the very least very underwhelming. Part of it might've been my fault, though, since I ate it pretty much straight from the freezer, and the day wasn't very warm, so it didn't get to thaw and melt much at all. If I had waited a bit longer before eating it, I'm sure the taste would have been improved.

Most of these might be somewhat... local? `:D I still hope you enjoyed this little review!
